Disney Developing the Ability to Recognize the touch sensor in the body, Water and Other Objects


A collaborative team of Disney Research and Carnegie Mellon University have developed a touch technology where everyday objects can respond to the touch as well as a touch screen on your phone.A video in Youtube page showing off Disney Research is a technology called Touche. technology is known as a Swept Frequency Capacitive Sensing, the way it works is to analyze the input of hundreds of data points and then allows the system to detect touch and how many objects are touched, the object types and how how the object is touched. 
This technology even works in the fluid. Examples of its application in the body, you can control your music player just by doing a gesture on your fingers.Then to use on screen, this technology is capable of recognizing the different ways to touch, for example touching the index finger generate input as left click on the mouse, and touch the thumb generates input as right click. There are many other examples, for more details please see the following video:
