Microsoft is not a new player in the world of music sales, and now Microsoft has invested in hardware audio player Zune device to a smartphone operating system Windows Phone as a way to provide access to music and offer new services. The next company is likely to want to touch any other operating system in expanding the use of their products. There are rumors circulating that a streaming service is being developed by Microsoft, which has the code name of Woodstock which can be used both Android and IOS users.
Of the heard, Microsoft will focus in delivering Woodstock through the browser on the mobile phone users, this rumor is not clear, but until now have not heard the possibility of the presence of native applications. This is an interesting strategy, if it is true, but we think users will prefer a stand-alone application Woodstock.
Woodstock is a function of the application allegedly similar to Spotify, iTunes Match with additional capabilities. Again not yet clear how these features work, especially Woodstock is a streaming service, instead of storing songs.
Microsoft plans to introduce the possibility of Woodstock this year at E3, which begins on June 5.
